Youth Wrestling

2024/25 Youth Season 

Our youth is divided into 5 sessions; Girls Only, VAA Beginner 1, SAW Beginner 2, SAW Onboarding, and SAW Championship.  See below for details.

Space is limited so please sign up your wrestlers as quickly as possible.

SAW ONBOARDING SESSION

REGISTER HERE: 

Description:   SAW Onboarding Session is for wrestlers in 1st-4th grades with 2+ years experience, looking to take their wrestling and focus to the next level.  These wrestlers are expected to pay attention and will be held accountable in practice to listen and stay focused.   SAW Onboarding wrestlers can also register & join our SAW Competition Session in mid-December when those practices start. 

  • Cost: $115

  • How Often:  2 nights/week for 6 Weeks (11 total practices)

  • Day/Time:  Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:15 - 7:45 pm

  • Practice Location: Stillwater High School Wrestling Room

  • Ages: 1st - 4th grade with 2+ years experience (All 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to join our Middle School Wrestling Program which starts November 1st)

  • Tentative Practice Dates: 

  • Nov. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 (Nov. 28 - Thanksgiving is off)

SAW COMPETITION SESSION

REGISTER HERE: 

Description: SAW Championship Session is for wrestlers with 2+ years experience who are training with aspirations to compete in the MNUSAW Youth State Championships in March.   

  • Cost: $245

  • How Often: 2 nights/week for 12 Weeks (24 total practices)

  • Day/Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:15 - 7:45 pm

  • Practice Location: Stillwater High School Wrestling Room

  • Skill Level: 1st - 6th grade with more than 2 years experience

VAA BEGINNER 1:

Description: The Beginner Level is for Pre-K through 2nd grade athletes with 0 to 1 year of experience, who have a lot of energy and like to play, tumble, and be physical in a fun and safe environment. Our goal is to provide an introduction to wrestling while creating an environment where kids can exercise their emerging athleticism and physicality through gymnastics, tumbling, and playful wrestling-type situations & games.

 

  • Cost: $85

  • How Often: 1 night/week for 7 weeks, with an additional practice in the 7th week (8 total practices)

  • Day/Time: Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:15pm, (and Thursday Dec 19 5:30-6:15pm)

  • Practice Location: Stillwater High School Wrestling Room

  • Ages: Pre-K through 2nd Grade  (Mostly beginners in the sport of wrestling)

  • Practice Dates: 

    • Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26

    • Dec. 3, 10, 17, 19 (the last practice will be organized competition)

GIRLS VAA BEGINNER 2024-2025

Level Description:  Join the fastest growing Girls Sport in America!  We are excited to once again offer  VAA ALL-GIRLS Wrestling in 2024-25.  The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) added Girls Wrestling as an official High School Sport three seasons ago...Which Girl will be the next MSHSL STATE WRESTLING CHAMPION?

The Beginner Level is for Pre-K through 6th grade GIRLS  with 0 to 1 year of wrestling experience. Our goal is to provide an introduction to wrestling while creating an environment where girls  can build confidence in their athleticism and physicality through tumbling, conditioning, strength, wrestling basics & games.

Ages: Pre-K through 1st-6th Grade  (Mostly beginner in the sport of wrestling)

How Often: 1 night/week for 7 weeks, with an additional practice in the 7th week (8 total practices)

  • Practice Dates: 

    • Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26

    • Dec. 3, 10, 17, 19 (the last practice will be organized competition)

All practices are held at the High School Aux Gym (Old Wrestling Room) 

Cost: $85

 

 

NOTE:  7-12 grade girls interested in participating in the MSHSL events including qualifying for the Girls State Tournament should register through the school activities sites.  The girls are not required to attend coed practices.  Your coach, Katrina Eggum, will work with girls to individually identify a training schedule to fit your experience and goals. 7th/8th and 9th-12th Registration Link: https://activities.wordwareinc.com/students
